A student union as per the guidelines and schedule given by university is elected every year on presidential mode. Faculty members are nominated by the staff council as the staff advisor and staff editor.


Women’s Cell

This forum is open to all girl students & focusing on the issues and needs of women of the present generation. It organizes discussions, seminars, awareness programmes, literacy programmes, classes in different areas, cooking, painting, flower arrangement, home management etc.

Grievance Redressal Cell

Any Complaint/ grievance regarding the students, staff institutions etc. can be made to this cell directly or can be put into the grievance box kept at an easily accessible place or through email. The complaints will be dealt with immediate effect by the committee handling this cell. The mechanism operates with a three tier system.

Placement Cell

Every student should get placed in different well placed institutions. So we give assistance to students to get placed in eminent institutions in India and abroad.


With the idea of moulding the minds of the student teachers, various co-curricular and extracurricular programmes are conducted under the auspices of various clubs. Each club with its specific aims and objectives prepares a plan of action at the beginning of the academic year. The Principal shall be the ex-officio president of all the clubs. The office bearers of the clubs are elected from the students. A teacher in charge is nominated for the efficient functioning of the club they handle.

The important clubs functioning in the college are:-

  • Debate club
  • Health, Fitness & Sports club
  • Mathematics club
  • Bhoomitrasena.
  • In addition, as per the direction from the Government, an Electoral Literacy Club is formed in the College to create awareness about the importance of elections and voting.


The college provides wholesome preparation and directed study for the competitive examinations. Along with usual curricular classes, student teachers will get an opportunity to go through the objective type questions of competitive exams. Students who appear for the NET/SET/KTET exam will get coaching classes from experts in the field. The college will ensure that each and every student has qualified in the NET/SET/KTET exams which are essential for bright future of our students.

  • Abraham Thekekkuttu Award for the student who scores highest mark in Natural Science in the University examination.
  • Ravindran Kuvakkatt Award for the student, who scores highest mark in English theory paper in the University examination.
  • Prof. Kandoth Memorial Award for the first and second place winners in the inter-collegiate elocution competition.
  • Thommen Puthumayil memorial award for the best user of the Library.

  • Jose & Annamma Poovathummootil Scholarship for the student who is most proficient in teaching.
  • Alumni scholarship for Higher Studies preferably M. Ed.
  • Alumni merit/cum means scholarship for two needy students of the present batch.
  • Joseph Karukuttikkaram Memorial Scholarship for top Scorer in Mathematics in the University examination.


  • Prof: Kandoth Endowment for the first, second and third place from the college in the University examinations.
  • Mar. Kuriakkose Kunnassery merit cum means endowment for most needy students Sponsored by PKM Staff Association.
  • Kandoth Sunitha Simon Kurpad Endowment for the financially weaker students.
  • Adoppally Chacko mathew Memorial endowmement for a student who is from low income family and proficient in teaching under Madampam forane.
